Hi, I’m Boteng Yao.

I’m an engineer interested in the systems underneath the software everyone sees — distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and lately the machinery it takes to run AI agents at scale. This blog is where I think out loud: first-principles tours of open-source projects, notes on design tensions that don’t have clean answers yet, and write-ups of things I’m learning and building.
